Some of you may know that I was recently made redundant from my day job. In an attempt to see this turbulent time in a more positive light, I’m taking some time to focus on my writing and pick up more freelance work. As such, I’ll be updating the list of services on offer from January 2025.

My prices will be increasing on 01/01/2025. The current prices will hold for clients that book before 31/12/2024, as long as the work is undertaken by 28/02/2025.

The new prices will be*:

One Page Wonder: £350
The Debut: £550
The Darling: £700
The Dazzler: £900

I’m also going to give Squarespace a go, so I hope to introduce that soon!

While I market these services towards authors, I take on a number of different clients, including other creatives and businesses. Get in touch if you’d like to hear more.

Editorial services

With more than a decade of experience in the publishing industry, I like to think I know my way around a manuscript! So I’m excited to offer copyediting and proofreading services to both individuals and publishers for a variety of texts. Academic, technical, non-fiction, and fiction of all genres considered.

My hourly rates are based on the CIEP’s minimum rates (£35 for copyediting, £30 for proofreading), but I can also quote based on word count. My rate per 1000 words is £12 for copyediting and £10 for proofreading, with a minimum rate of £11 for pieces below 1000 words.

I’m also available for transcription services with a flat rate of £1 per audio minute.

While I’ve still got to get used to this new normal, I’m excited to be able to branch out with my freelance work and focus more on creative pursuits. I hope everyone has a very lovely Christmas, and here’s to 2025!
