A couple of days ago, Girl, Lost fell out of the top 100 and the price went up from 99p to £1.99. The first thing I felt was something akin to panic. Had it stayed in there for long enough? Would my publisher be happy with the sales? Would I be happy with the sales? Is the book destined to tumble into oblivion?
These are, I’ve been assured, very normal thoughts for authors. We all experience this kind of anxiety. Writing is a career full of extreme highs and lows, and this publication day has been a shining example of this rollercoaster.
Girl, Lost is currently at 233 in the Kindle chart, with lots of lovely reviews (and a few which are less so!), and I couldn’t be prouder of my little book.
